Fabia 20-40mph - faster than a lotus elise, 50-70mph faster than a 330ci BMW, 310nm torque, once chipped with usual breathing modifcations can see 190hp and another 100nm of torque, now lets see a piece of jap tin beat that. Type R may rev to 10000000000 million rpm, but it has no torque, which on a quarter mile is useless, certainly the Civics have better chassis/handling, but thats it.

Are you being serious? Fabia vRS is certainly NOT quicker than a Type R. My dad owns an Octavia vRS 180hp, I own an Accord Type R (about as quick as a DC2 Integra) and my car is quicker. And the Octavia vRS is quicker than Fabia vRS, so how the hell can a fabia be quicker stock? Sorry bud, you're totally wrong.

i have 200 bhp runinng in my vRS with a custom 4" downpipe system and a jabba remap with a K&N panel filter, it dynoed at 200.37 hp. i recorded 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds and had it at 153 so its defo not optimistic

had an ATR stock, great car! now drive a fabia vrs (over hyped) mine is on full coil overs and has a remap done by a manchester VAG tunning company, its apparently pulling 165 bhp compared to 212 the atr had. fabia just had a turbo fail and then spit hose etc. cost me over 1500 quid in the last month, the fabia can be quick with mods but it is a cheap car, hondas type r's are better built and can take stick,oh btw you can tune them too you know, where would that put the fabia shit box then??

@tubing1982 190bhp isnt optimistic at all. There is one particular Fabia vRS which has 270bhp worth of tuning. To get 190 all you need is a 3'' downpipe/exhaust and a FMIC. Using a Garrett VNT22 turbo some people have seen 280bhp, so imagine the torque compared to the poor civic. Yes it may rev, but over double the torque figure, very rapid in gear acceleration make a very potent weapon.

@Al88CZ Lots of 'in gear' performance comparisons quoted there, so not a true measurement of maximum performance, only highlighting how much torque the 1.9TDi unit has. A remap will see power rise to maybe 165-170bhp, but 190bhp is very optimistic tbh.
