He comments on the new drug safety board being created by the federal government to monitor prescription drugs that are currently on the market. The FDA has been taking too long to warn consumers about the potential dangers in medications and their correlation to people with heart conditions. Goldman said the new board can be a positive move. If it is allowed to operate on a scientific basis, without special interest or political interference, it will actually protect both the best interests of scientists and, most importantly, the public who consume these prescription drugs.
