Red Light Jumping Cyclist Busted!

*LOWER YOUR VOLUME* The wind noise at the start might be loud!

Anyway a cyclist jumps a red-light right infront of a police van. I dunno if the cyclist was near missed at the junction or the police were beeped at him.

I have nothing against cyclists and I cycle myself, but I have had a few close calls with light jumping cyclists.

Does it count as jumping the lights if you stop, pick the bike up, walk AROUND the lights on the pavement, then start again?

@beansterman1998 I don't see an issue with that. Done it myself when I've cycled. A pedestrian wheeling a bike is still a pedestrian.

As a cyclist I agree that anyone jumping the lights should be stopped and fined.

@zivkovicable Considering jumping a red light can have a knock on effect with other road users it is dangerous. Maybe not seriously but can have low speed crashes etc.

Cyclists jumping red lights - Annoying but not dangerous. Red light jumping cyclists killed 0 people last year in the UK. Red light jumping motorists regularly cause over 120 deaths per year.

Completely agree, it really annoys me how many of my fellow cyclists disregard red lights among other things.

Excellent! Now all they need to do is pull drivers over for driving whilst on the phone and failing to indicate and the roads will be a lot safer!
