August 20, 2007: TURN VOLUME UP! You will hear it blown 24 times, 15 forward and 9 backwards. Conrail SD50 NS 5413 and LMS Dash-8-40CW NS 8459 show off! AMAZING LESLIE RS3L! Thank goodness for the many blocks in Lebanon, this was taken at 7th St. Even after the whole train passes you can still hear that horn blowing! Those many long and short bursts just add to the excitement...ah yes...

  • Y would you want a K5 Chan, they SUCK! Even more so with the new ones, they are so outa tune! they make them like they dont know what there doing. Please i like the older K horns but any Leslie can rule over any K horn any day! but NOTHING BEATS M HORNS an M5 will blow any horn outa the water.

  • Chan is an opposite railfan, he likes Catfish and stuff nobody else likes. Hehehe :) Did you ever hear a K5LLAMATT horn? They are extremely rare, but awesome. I have one on film and I'm posting it soon, it's NS SD50 5414. I originally thought it was a Leslie RS5T, but it sounded too loud. It really tops out the modern K series, all units should get a K5LLAMATT, 100x better than a original K5LLA. It is a custom horn, and so far, this is the only one I found on the NS roster.

  • We don't need another K5LA, we need more Leslie. And this one is no exception!

  • Nice! Great to see a totally blue lashup. That horn was nice!

  • That's the Conrail sound I remember when I was little...

  • Wow!!!!!!!!

  • loved that horn..leslies rock!

  • I like the K5LA. Sure, it's not as great as the RS3L, but it's still an awesome horn. Personally, my favorite is the K5H.

  • K3la own

  • love that doplar

  • I agree with yadkin. Not a major foul, I think a bit of overblow. Perhaps just one loopy bell, though I can't tell which one. The S-25 has some nice ring to it, which is what makes me really like this particular horn on the 5413.

  • It's not out of tune, it's actually an RS3L-R which means one bell is reversed. They sound better all bells forward, but railroads prefer to have at least one bell reversed, generally.

  • 5*****!!!!!!!!!

  • Hahahaha are you serious? Hey it isn't an M3, probably a fancy Leslie or P series, check out my video with the Lancaster and Northern PRL U-Boats, at minute 6 you can hear the horn.
