In 1995, the fantastic series entitled Loving ended its run, and before it was spun off into an equally wonderful series entitled The City...A series of murders occured which in effect eliminated the core family of the series, The Aldens. This was a mystery which was filled with more intrigue and edge of your seat action than anything you see on television today, or have since. Characters you'll see through out this 5 part edit of some of the highlights include Trisha Alden (ATWT's Noelle Beck), Tess Wilder (OLTL's Catherine Hickland), Ally Bowman (GH's Laura Wright), Clay Alden (GL's Dennis Parlato), Steffi Brewster (Y&R's Amelia Heinle), Dinah Lee Mayberry (Elizabeth Mitchell of Lost), along with many more including an AMC mainstay Jeremy Hunter (Jean Leclerc), Debbi Morgan as Angie Hubbard, and the wonderful Lisa Peluso (Lila of Another World) as Ava Masters, and in my opinion one of the best actresses in Daytime History, Christine Tudor Newman as Gwenyth Alden. In this clip, The Killer targets Clay and Curtis Alden. What is that mysterious clicking sound? Find out as you watch one of the greatest storylines in Daytime..The Loving Murders!

  • Why can't soapnet rerun this one? Who cares about One Tree Hill, it's not even a soap. And you REAL soap fans know what i'm talking 'bout!!!! Does anyone out there have any LOVING footage of back when Ava's sister Carly didn't know she had this son with Paul Slavinsky. His name was Michael and he used to go to sleep listening to Sweet Baby James by James Taylor.

  • Too bad that no one seems tohave Stacey's murder (the first).

  • @MrChicago891 Excuse me but One Tree Hill is a soap. It has a continuing story with love triangles, villians, murder, sex blaclmail, and so on. Have you ever watched the show because if you had you'd know it was a soap. Also, sometimes it is not as easy as you think to rerun an old show. Depends on who owns the show, licensing, syndication, and so on. Many fans make comments with little to no knowledge of the business dynamics of TV. Plus, no one hardly watched this show during its original run.

  • so since ava's husband showed up on the city and she didn't i am assuming he and ava got divorced at the end of loving?did steffy have her baby she was pregnant with at the end of loving or did she have a miscarriage?

  • I was just a kid at the end of lovings run... i had just became addicted to soaps through days of our lives demon possession storyline .. I only liked the crazy storylines lol would try to watch any soap that had something exciting and intriguing going on.. loving had the best killer storyline i had ever seen ! then it became the city which i also actually liked after it got started and had its killer story hehe lol.

One of the biggest problems was scheduling it against "Young and the Restless"... it had been suggested around the mid-80's at some point to move "Loving" to a time slot between AMC and OLTL, which at the time were among the highest rated soaps on TV. I still maintain that at least by the time "Ryan's Hope" was cancelled in '89, ABC should have pulled out more of the stops (like this scheduling change) to get more viewers to "Loving".

  • It was one of the most amazing story lines in soap opera history. Unforgettable and still talked about to this day.

  • I think the main reason why he ended up there in the first place was that he sabotaged a plane which crashed. Janey Sinclair was killed and Dinah Lee was temporarily paralyzed. At that time, there was also that twin story with Jeremy/Gilbert, and Gilbert (posing as Jeremy) caused Curtis to lose his mind to the point where he ended up shooting Gwyneth. I think there's more to it, but my mind's kinda fuzzy.

  • Curtis was knocked out by a gas leak while he was in that immersion tank.

  • So what were the clues? I never watched Loving, but this storyline is almost a legend...how was the 2nd guy killed? Drugged and drowned?
