  • WHILE MORE ANGRY GETS THE ZYDRUNAS

    MORE POWERFULL GETS THE ZYDUNAS

  • @speedykthx You are right about the bending in some strongmen's backs. A lot of them though just use leg drive (or C&J if you're Misha lol) and there shoulders/triceps. I tend to only see their backs bending when they are pretty exhausted. And in the case of Savickas, there isn't any leg drive or back bending lol so I think he favors thinner logs.

  • @spawn039 that makes sense actually, but than the question becomes if thats actually a factor or not, they hyper extend the back pretty fare (especially on the continental clean portion of the lift) this would put the log on the center line of the body and would get more drive from the legs, but your shoulders may still be behind the bar and not in line with it...if any of that makes sense...maybe there is more technique to the log press than we all thought lol

  • @speedykthx The position of the handles would be debatable and differ depending on the log and how deep the holes for the handles were cut out so the handles may not necessarily be higher. Now if you have a pretty thick log (lets say 18" in this scenario) it would be out in front of you more than a 12" or 10" log would be and so the weight would be pulling down in front of you making it harder to press. If you're pressing anything overhead you want the path and object to be as straight as can.
