Do you need to record on your computer with two people talking at the same time? Then check out this video.

I needed to have a buddy and me both talking on our headset/microphones at the same time so we could record a video and podcast. We needed to be able to plug in either two USB microphones or one USB and one analog.

Found this great software to help:

http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/index.php?section=download (Kristal)

Allows two or more microphones to be plugged in a the same time and record on separate audio tracks. Then the volume of each can be set independently and the file saved.

Worked great...and it's free.

  • @MinecraftHelper11 If I understand you right, you have two different computers? This is what we were doing. You could record on separate computers using this or Audacity (or any other). If you have noise cancelling mics, it will only pick up your voice on your mic (you hope). When done recording, save each audio file, then import back into audacity and import both tracks, align them to sync, and save.

  • @homedognoah97 Both mics will plug in separately, but the recording will be on two tracks which can be exported separately or mixed, as I do, into one final podcast/recording/wav file, etc...

  • you rock man thankyou

  • what file type does it save to?

  • I have been looking for a multi channel recorder for ages! trying to record skype or steam stereo mix and a usb mic was a nightmare. This works great!

Also, if anyone has the problem

"estimated mixdown length zero please set left and right sliders"

then CTRL + RIGHT CLICK on the end of your audio file will solve this.
