The title pretty much covers the scope of this video. My apologies for the blurriness at the end of this video, I failed to switch out of macro mode. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this.

  • Great vid! I have only the Best Of The Pixies CD, so I may buy the box YOU own. One friendly recommendation though, if you have the Pixies discography in 24k gold CD, DVD and Blu-Ray, brilliant sound, don't listen to them on your computer! Blow your speakers away or use your good headphones and a good CD player. Nowadays everyone rips and stores or sell their CDs. I hate digital music, man. It's like having sex through your computer. Where's the feeling? Where's the real thing? Cheers bro!

It was a slight gaffe when I said I would be listening to the albums on my computer. I do rip them, albeit in Apple Lossless, so I'm using a lossless format.

I'm sure I will listen to the songs on the Blu-ray over my stereo, but mostly I will be listening via my iPod and a pair of Klipsch Image S4 earbuds, which are excellent. I understand your stance on digital, but I don't view CD's in the way people view vinyl, because CD's aren't analog. Thanks for watching.

  • You're right, but CD's and digital audio files DO sound different. I tried listening to The Clash on CD, Vinyl and Digital Audio File, truth is that I find the CD better than the vinyl and much better than the digital audio file. I guess I can sacrifice the little more dynamics that the vinyl has to offer in order for an incredibly much longer life duration, less hissing, more compact, much cheaper and sometimes often more content the way the CD offers than the vinyl but not mp3 audio. Do you?

I haven't really done much comparison between the audio quality/qualities of CD and digital files, so I can't really comment on that. But at this point in time I don't own a dedicated CD player. I have so appreciated the ability to have my complete music library with me at all times in the form of my iPod, that I can't imagine returning to a portable CD player. You raise some interesting points, and next time I have to opportunity, I will have to do some comparisons.
