@PaulR209 So right there mate. This is the first time that I have heard this particular song, from an album I have always wanted to find, either vinyl or CD, but never could, but any way this song moved me to tears as some of his songs can. The Lyrics seem to be words that Joy McKean would write

Beautiful words. One of Slim's best, although he didn't write the lyrics. I think it is on the Coming Home album.

I would like thank you for posting thuis song. I am not Aussie but I love Slim Dusty.
The Pub With No Beer was one of the first songs I learned to play on the Old KIalamazoo. (Sears brand Gibson F hole). Thanks again Please excuse spelling , Slim was 1 yr younger than I .
