@tokyodriftdude101 they have a football team too and army and navy play against them as well, but because they werent formed until WWII and didnt have a football team until 1955 the rivalry is so much older with army and navy. theres a lot more tradition involved with the army/navy game so they kind of make a bigger deal about it. also, back in the day before there were huge colleges with awesome football teams, army and navy were some of the best college football teams out there.

Both Navy and Army play Air Force throughout the season and its a big deal, but the Army Navy game had been a longer standing tradition and is therefore more popular, both colleges have been around since the 1800's and we got USAFA in the 1950s

This game is appointment television. I love it and watch it every year. And although I lean toward Army being a native New Yorker, both teams get my applause every year. Just a fantastic tradition in college football and sports in general.
