A short instructional piece on how to put seafoam through the engine of an R50/R53. And, of course, the resulting smoke show :)

Things I didn't mention in the video: When starting the engine after the seafoam sits, go slowly. Rev it very gently until the engine runs smoothly at about 2000 RPM. Then you can start opening it up more.

If you get a CEL and the engine goes into limp mode (the engine won't rev freely), shut it off and restart it, and continue revving until the majority of the smoke is gone.

You don't have to get as carried away with the revving as I did, but it's fun :)

  • @samicta Sorry for the late reply - I can't actually remember how much it was, but I had it done @ the dealer. Keep in mind that the 02-04 and the 05-06 have different mounts.

  • Hi im a Mini owner. My engine mount needs to be taken care of soon. I was wondering how much did it cost you to get your changed?

    thanks man!
