i really suprised about henry rollins and his thoughts. im amazed that he even listens to miles knowing that punk rocks guys dont listen to jazz. i know there are many exceptions with that statement but the average guy listening to punk isnt playing kind of blue

He just wants you to believe he is into this music...Email him and tell you how he is influenced by Miles in Rollin's music...Bottom line is it doesn't exist...Rollins just thinks its cool to say he is into Mile's music...If Rollins and Miles were living at the same time (during the same era) Rollins would rip into Mile's like he does most other musicians...Rollins is a phony mean mugging wanna be musician who was only cool during his Black flag days when kids really didn't know what cool was

The other two get their credit. Well, Coltrane does. A LOT! Thelonious Monk a little less but he's acknowledged.

Agreed, but Davis was the most influential artist in developing other Jazz movements like Bebop, Modal, acid jazz, fusion and funk.

Not really. If you go around and ask people to name 2 albums by Miles, you'll get 1 out of maybe 100 who know. In the Jazz world...he gets a lot of credit, but I've never heard of any connossieurs or dilettants ignore the other greats.
