The only entity ever 'given'planes are Museums or schools. Not the competition...not a good business practice!

Did SIA sell or give the planes to CX ?
the engines are a dead give away...they are P&Ws (Pratt & Whitneys) versus the standard RRs (Rolls Royce) Cathay normally operates. It is highly probable that these are ex-Singapore Airl. birds The entire B-HK-series (except Freighters of course).
