**MY FIRST EVER TRAIN VIDEOS** A drizzly evening on August 1st 2008 and I decided to shoot my very first train videos. At the current time, part of the Cathcart Circle line has been affected due to subsidence at Pollokshields East. Therefore, all stations via Queens Park are completely innacessible, so trains at Kings Park are much more frequent.
This was taken at Kings Park where the service comes around directly from Glasgow Central to Kings Park, to meet up with Bus link to minimize inconvenience caused by works at Pollokshields E. It waits at Kings Park for about 3 or four minutes and then sets back off, past Cathcart Station and then goes on its way to Neilston via Muirend and all subsequent stations.
Once again it's a class 314 machine (unit 203) however if I remember rightly this is the train that had it's end carriage (the one closest to my camera) replaced by an ex-507 class machine in 1992 after the original was destroyed in the Newton Rail crash. These trains will not be around much longer as they are being retired in 2010. They currently serve the Cathcart Circle line and occasionally the Inverclyde line. When these are retired, class 320 units are planned to replace them on the cathcart circle and associated lines.
Thanks for watching and apologies for the piss poor A/V quality, it's the best my camera's got right now.

Great video! Kings Park is my local station. I was curious when I saw your blurb saying "going to Neilston from KP", I thought it should say "Newton"; so I viewed this to correct you, but I was completely unaware of the revised Circle timetables when this was filmed last year, so you're quite right! I'll miss the old 314s when they go, they are fairly rubbish but they're like an old friend to me for all the times I've ridden them on the Newton, Neilston, and Circle lines. ***** ;-)

They have decent acceleration but are just quite uncomfortable. Although they are brighter inside than the new trains and going fast in them is quite fun.
