  • Star Wars RULES!!!

  • @quacksacker Vipers are limited to human G tollerances (which sustained tops off at about 10-15 gs depending on the pilot) TIE Fighters have acceleration compensators that allows them to pull 5000 + Gs

Viper guns are effectively machine guns, but TIE Fighter guns are comparable to 2 kiloton bombs in every shot, a 5 second burst from a TIE is equal to a Battlestar Nuke in the low/mid range.

A hit from a TIE Fighter gun won't just blow up a Viper or Raider, it will flat out vapourize it.

  • i dont know much about the old galacticas but the new one could take on maybee 5 stardestroyers or just ramm them into parts

  • Galactica and other battlestars have nuclear weapeons like 20 or so warheads sust 2-3 nuclear missiles are enough to blow a star drestoier up and there are the cylons too they have safety in numbers and a tie shot eqauls a 2 kilotons nuclear bomb ... be serious you star Wars guys are odd even stargate and startrek would kick imperial asses in a head to head confruntation!

  • I don't think I'll ever listen to Hans Zimmer the same way again.

  • I think that the Empire won that one. Yes they lost 2 frigates, but the Colonials lost a battlestar (equivilant to the US loosings a fleet carrier to 2 Japanese heavy cruisers during WW2), and the Colonials inflicted more losses on the fighters than they received but the Empire is little concerned with the fighters. All remaining heavy units sustained moderate damage and the Colonials were forced to flee like the Rebel Alliance in most battles.

  • @Membrane556 Actually we have seen ships go into Orbit of a planet easily, also you CAN make a Hyperspace jump out while in a Gravity field, but it A) has to be a stable one (Interdictor fields are intentionally wildly unstable.) and B) it takes longer for the Navicomputer to compensate while doing so.

Still when the firepower and general performance discrepencies are so high, having the ability to go FTL in or out of an atmosphere is pretty moot.

  • you know star wars lose

  • that was cool. i liked the way one of the battlestars' drives split the scene... any plans on doing more?

  • There is one cannon advantage the BSG ships do have over the Starwars ships and that's their Jumpdrive.

Starwars ships cannot jump into hyperspace near a planet in fact gravity projectors are a cannon device used to keep enemy ships from escaping in starwars while BSG ships are largely unaffected by gravity Galactica even jumped while in the vicinity of a blackhole and they are capable of very accurate jumps even into a planet's atmosphere.

  • @imicusdown 50 feet of any known metal yes, but sci-fi has a tendency to have these super uber metals. As well as stuff like Acceleration Compensators/Inertial Dampeners, as well as Structural Integrity Fields/Tensor Fields which is how they technobable their way into explaining how both the pilot and the ship can get that level of performances.

  • @Perion

    5000 gs?

that wouldn't just rip apart a human,

it'd shread 50 feet of metal in half
