After some use I must say the Thermaltake V9 case just has way to many down sides. The inlet for the PSU fan is way to restrictive and starved my PSU of virtually all air flow. The quick release clips for the expansion cards was also useless.

I didn't find it to be the best built case in its price range. In fact many Cooler Masters, Antec or NZXT cases I've used in the past had either been less money or felt better built for the same price range.

I'm not saying all Thermaltake cases are bad but overall I can't recommend this case to anyone.

  • Antec 300 is plain...but few features.

  • @shawnspeed3 Biggest issue with the 300 is the lack of wire management but it was a solid case for the price that nothing else really touched when it came out. Mind you that was like 3 years ago when it came out and they still sell the thing... Antec lately has either had designs that seem a little dated or they're too far out there. I used to be a big fan of Antec cases but no so much anymore. Now CM or Corsair have had more cases I like.

  • the black edition fixes some of those problems

  • @tssracing14 Yeah I've since seen the black edition and they did fix a few things inc the taller feet on the bottom.

  • very interesting, my v4 has 3/4 feet on the bottom

  • @shawnygz Yeah I've seen the V3 and the V4 and they do have bigger feet on the bottom. Like I said this case cost 2.5 times the price of those too! That's why it's so disappointing. I think they eventually put bigger feet on it though. So they realized it was a mistake.

  • @MN12BIRD I just ordered the V0 BlackX for the USB 3.0 and docking built-in! AR it's $44, and my Antec 300 (no features except good fans) is still $60! Rip-off. I always wanted a window to see my cool components too. The huge fan on top (V9) is awesome. The V9 BlackX looks cool but not cheesy. Can't beat the price! Corsairs IMO are the best if money was not an issue. I have the Corsair K90 kb and it's worth every penny...You should video your new case.

  • For everyone looking at the Black Edition of this V9 case, It still has some problems that I personally don't like but i can hopefully live with them. 1) is the USB 3.0, is not a on board connector, you have to plug it into a female Usb 3.0 on the back of your case. 2) The quick release system still sucks. Other then that great case.

  • my v9 black edition has tall feet at the bottom so my PSU gets plenty of air

  • My HAF 912 is more sturdy than that and it was $20 - $30 less. It also supports water cooling if you want to stick a dual rad in the top of the case if you were to buy a H100 or some other water cooling setup.

  • i like mine..i mean unless your computer is riding horse back accross the desert, but i mean mine is stationary and im happy with it..though some of your complaints are very resonable and genuine
