The last journey for No. 46115 Scots Guardsman in 1966. A compilation of enthusiasts' cine films with music added. OK, I know it's the Coronation Scot but I like it and is reminiscent of "Children's Favourites" which those of us of a certain age all listened to in the early sixties! So there!!

  • How wonderful to be reminded of an England untarnished by the 'Health and Safety' freaks who have taken all the fun out of our lives.

  • @bmoviefan100 Quite! Oh for a time machine!

  • @bmoviefan100 I remember the warning label "Do not lean out of the window" being changed to "Do not clean soot off the window" by schoolboys everywhere - including myself!

  • Another little gem, a great piece of video from out of those great hay days, I wonder how many more pieces of such film are hidden away gathering dust in somebody's loft or garage. Thank you for bringing this one to light, though the music soundtrack, I recall was with another similar piece of railway film.

  • I'm not surprised the music is used elsewhere, it's entitled "Coronation Scot" amd often requested on "Children's Favourites in the Uncle Mac days by trainspotters nationwide!

  • @Quarkman0 Me and my dad never took any notice of the signs. we have footage of the North Yorkshire Moors railway from 2009 Pickering to Whitby and back again out of the left side of the train all the way.

Sadly I cannot upload that footage :( need to find the video tape and convert it really. hehe. (like all the old steam days videos)

  • If anyone is wondering, the line the train travelled on is the S&C (Settle & Carlisle)

  • I remember leaning out and loved being in the smoke and getting blinded by some embers which really hurt, brilliant.

  • @Quarkman0 I'll second that !

  • @Quarkman0 Great days indeed...!!

  • @Vick2242 Just spotted your comment on the 6115 cine compilation - My beautiful long-lost England.........I miss you so.- so apt
