Hebraic Dance- Rokdim ~aka~ Barefoot

This is me and my friend doing one of our favorite dances. It's not the best so I am going to get a different one taken sometime, but I figure this will do for now. In the beginning I'm just doing a test to see how we fit in the screen, so don't mind that. :)

I don't even know who choreographed it, and this is the only version I've ever seen. I learned it from friends who learned it from friends, ect, ect. When a dance spreads from place to place all across the world it's bound to change a little.

This is one of my all time favs, Rokdim Yechefim. Post some more, lol, so I can learn them.

I thinks it's interesting how dances change as they move from conrgeation to congregation. Like, at 0:25, at our synagogue, we don't do a spin, we do a kick and grab our heels, and at 0:38-0:40, we do chacha, turn, chacha, turn, while going around each other. I like the way you two dance this one, it's nice.

I was a prof. dancer when i was younger and i find this dance interesting; it looks like what we call in Holland ''volksdansen'' but this looks more etheric.

@mona518 That's ridiculous! Why should they follow a choreographer?? Who said folk dance was all the time danced the same way? That wouldn't be folk dance but movements created in a lab, and that monotony would be itself one reason not to watch!

@OhFishyFish ...yes I know I was pretty disgusted with how lethargic I look... BUT we HAD been dancing alot before we finally decided to video it, hence the lack of energy. But thankyou for your honest constructive criticism.
