@DomSubmissiveKitty because the owners won't spend that kind of money on a dog that's (WAY TOO) easily replaced. and there's no law that says they HAVE to. all they have to do is get it veterinary care. if that means they tell the vet, "Just euthanize it" it's ok. WRONG, but legally fine to do.

I watched this video, tears streaming down my face... I know, close-and-personnal, I absolutely "know" the paper-thin skin, the delicate, elongated bones, the long legs and necks that I saw here bending in impossible ways... I can all too easily hear the breaking bones, the yelps of pain, the silence after the gun...
How this atrocity continues to happen daily is beyond my comprehension. How track owners can defend this carnage by saying that the greys "love to race" defies the intelligence...
I can't bring myself to watch this video...the pictures alone had me in tears. After adopting my beautiful greyhound, I wish I had adopted one sooner. These gentle dogs are sweet, affectionate and love people...they deserve a good home. Greyhound racing is cruel and should be stopped once and for all.

what i dont understand is this, a broken bone can be reset and mended of a period of time plus dogs can be given pain killers clinically tested for the safety for dogs. so why kill a dog that has a broken leg when you can take it to a vet and have its leg or whatever it broke, reset? makes no sense, if they have the money to race the dogs then they got the money to pay the vets bills!
