  • i have Had both tires i had the Toyo Open Country MT 35" on my Chevy avalanche and my f150single cab both 6' lift, after some wheeling i would notice chunks gone and they do not last long on the street either i Now own a 06 jeep wrangler X with 33" Baja mtz the tires are great i was going through a creek bed lots of rocks dint loose any chunks of my tires they work great on the street as well lots of traction as for the tires both are amazing for off-Road but the Baja Mtz seem to last

  • @riseaway777 I can agree with that. Mine are holding up well too.

  • @riseaway777 I heard about the mickey's mtz chunking off piece'sof rubber there is a video review from a guy in australia talking about the mtz and how disappointed he was in them and i lot of people said the same in some offroad forums. the toys have probably the longes tread life of any mud tire and the highest load rating of mud tire also. I want to get the mickeys as well but i hear to many bad things about them. maybe try the dick cepek mud country's or hercules trail diggers?

  • @todddhel That's a hard thing to estimate. I only have had them for about a year. That would be a good question for someone who has had them for several years. You should check out the review section of offroaders. Just type a 'slash' "reviewbox" after the dotcom (can't post a URL on youtube or I'd give you the link). There's thousands of reviews on all these mud tires. All the people leaving reviews on the site helped me decide which tire to get.

  • Thanks for getting back with all the info to!!! I really appreciate it,

  • @Offroadersdotcom I had a chance to look at some today at tire pros they look really nice . I thought they would be a little more agressive. I compared them next to the nitto trail grapplers and they didn't have as much tread depth compared to the nitto. I'm going to check out the toyo's this weekend. In a few forums people were saying their getting 50,000+ miles on them. how many miles did you think one could get out of the mickeys? 80% highway 15% gravel rds and 5% forest trails and mud 4 me.

  • @todddhel Plus they are quite on the road and handle great in wet weather. Great in snow. Great in mud. Balance well. Wear evenly. So far so good.

  • @todddhel A friend of mine had been running the Toyo Open Country's for a few years, he's not too thrilled about them. Recently he asked me the same questions about the MTZs. The way I see it the MTZs are lightly softer rubber than Toyos softer=better traction. It depends on what you plan to do with them. Running on rocks? Go harder compound. Easy on the throttle, mud, forest trails? Softer compound. I'd buy the MTZs again. 7k on them and about 1/5th the tread has worn. Not bad for a mud tire.

  • @Offroadersdotcom just trying to make up my mind between the two. a few people i talked to say they toyos have better tread life and handle better. and others were saying the tread life on the mtz's weren't so great some chunks coming off the tread and such. so now i'm reall confused. i'm also looking at the dick cepek mud countrs. i also spoke to other that had the mtz and they same the love so just go to make upo my mind. them mickey's look sweet.
