Irish TV from Sky Blocked in the UK

Yes, just showing you the main Irish TV channels which are simply locked out from people having a Sky subscription in the UK.

To get RTÉ1, RTÉ2, TV3 and TG4.

Thing is, with Sky block the RTE channels in the UK and blocknig BBC & ITV in Ireland (don't know if the Republic get UTV pretty sure you do get Channel 4 S4C and Channel 5) Sky are actually breaking the EU Television Without Frontiers Regualtions, both UK and Ireland are EU members, so Sky should allow all the channels to both countries.

@GeoNeilUK n.Ireland can still get all Irish broadcasted channels, even without Sky.

@sean0sly Yes depending on what area of Northern Ireland you get the signal from. But you need a larger antenna pointing to one of the transmitters of the Republic of Ireland.

@GeoNeilUK I agree with you. Its abit similar with South Korea which you cant watch North Korea tv from there.

But i hope sky are noticing that they are breaking the regulations. Plus its a form of censorship as well.

Yeah we can watch these channels in N.Ire HOWEVER i cant seem to watch football matches when they are on rte as they are blocked?!?!?!

We don't get the BBC's or ITV's on sky with an Irish Subscription so you don't get the RTE's, TV3 or the others on sky with a UK subscription, nothing wrong with that!

it's stupid how in the republic you can get all the bbc channels including the itv's, the channel 4 associated channels, and the weksh speaking channel, s4c, when in england you can't get rté. a bit of a piss take tbh.

ND:the only thing you can't get in the republic, well at least i couldn't, was radio 1.

@BBC3ProgrammesInHD RTÉ cannot broadcast football matches in Northern Ireland if Sky Sports has the rights to these matches in the UK. I've seen football matches on RTÉ Two in the Republic of Ireland but the same matches are on Sky Sports in the UK.
