Rolls Royce Nimbus Mk. 103 turboshaft engine. Originally used on Westland Wasp helicopters. Just reworked the fuel filter and lines, and re-primed the engine. This time correct idle at 16,000 rpm achieved, and then a 50% test ending at 60%. Found water in the fuel heat exchanger - you can see it in the video on the exit line. Next - an 80%+ test is planned.
Can I use it to power an electrical generator?

@enimvalentine Sure - it's a great way to convert Kerosene/Diesel/Heating oil to 700kw of electricity!

@TheZoelzer2 No real thrust out the exhaust ports, all of the energy is converted into torque by the free turbine/reduction gear assembly.

Hey! I bought a nimbus awhile ago. I would like to get it stand running. How do you have your wiring done? Are you using the original plug? have you made your own harness? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I am a new turbine enthusiast, self taught as well

Hi-
Didn't use original connector, mine was already missing when I acquired the engine. Did all my own wiring. What do you need to get yours running? Are you close yet?
Scott.
