I agree that there are many Christians that are just plain wrong. Jesus' message was to believe in his divinity and his sacrifice would save the souls of all who believe.

I mean he is God you know. BTW the pharisees went out to establish their own righteousness self righteousness that is why Jesus called them hypocrites because they went around acting like they were holy when they were inwardly wolves.

Yes, the Pharisees were hypocrites. They spoke of righteousness and holiness when in truth they themselves were corrupt. They were the 'fundies' of their day. They sought a 'purer' more fundamental basis of Jewish belief so that the way would be made clear for the Messiah to come. They believed if their nation was 'purified' (less sinners) then the Roman occupation would come to an end. Their way didn't work.

One of the drives of Fundamentalist Christians today is "Less Sin, More God", "Let's return to a purer way, that of God" This is the same thinking as the Pharisees, Nathan, and guess what? It isn't going to work.
