Our Lady and St Joseph
During an encounter with diocesan priests in Guatemala, St Josemaria, the founder of Opus Dei, talked about devotion to our Lady and St Joseph in the life of a priest.
You are putting everything on a firm base.
Love for the Blessed Eucharist, love for the Master, as you call him here,
-- how beautiful! The Master! It's true!
The Master!
And devotion to our Blessed Lady.
I know you have the same devotion as I do, deeply rooted in you.
I always show this: my Rosary. This is my primary weapon,
it's what keeps me in touch with our Lady. It's got lots of medals,
and I've just been given another one.
I kiss them all -- I don't mind saying so --
I kiss them one by one. I say my Rosary just like a little old lady.
Keep going!
Thank you, Father.
And then St Joseph, whom you also love very deeply, you love him so much.
He's our Patron Saint.
And I call him my Father and Lord, and I say and write,
'whom I love so much' -- I love him a lot.
Obviously, you only have to look at what he was in his time: a Patriarch,
that's what he was, the authority he had, which was always recognized by God himself and by the Mother of God.
I love St Joseph for his purity, his love for work, his courage,
his obedience to God's suggestions, when in a dream an angel tells him to go.
'But isn't he the Son of God, God himself? Why does he have to hide?'
-- St Joseph doesn't say that. He goes.
And he takes Jesus into Egypt, and so on.
We won't go through the whole life of the Holy Patriarch. My son, you're doing well.

  • @freepoppie Im afraid I have to disagree with you, why be a slave to things of this world when eternity is what counts , Jesus said the truth will set you free Jesus christ is the light with out the light you shall not grow in faith and love .

  • dont fool yourselves..religion is a drug that makes ignorants happy...true happiness is within you find it! enjoy the amazing journey of life. leave religion behind its an obstacle on the way..they lying to us...hope i this help..luv&light

  • @Taharah007 i can assure you that its not idolatry in the sense that we as Catholics worship Mary or Joseph, who were human beings like us, and not at all Gods, because there is only one God, and we reserve that special worship to God alone. But Mary and Joseph were very special people, because they themselves are great examples obedience, love, and faith to God. So we believe they are watching us, and want to help us remain in God, through Christ alone.

  • Who is their MASTER???? IDOLOTRY!!!!
