Luigi Russolo, Italian Futurist painter, composer, and author, wrote in The Art of Noises, "In the nineteenth century, with the invention of machines, noise was born. Today noise is triumphant, and reigns supreme over the senses of man." He called for a "Music of Noise" insisting that composers, "break out of this narrow circle of pure musical sounds, and conquer the infinite variety of noise-sounds." That was in 1913. The initial intention of this project is closely related to create music out of everyday sounds. Noise is a common and omnipresent entity that often goes unnoticed due to desensitization. On the other hand, internal stimulation, such as emotional distress, is not so easy to tune out or ignore. By capturing and using found sounds from a typical day in the life of a person, and thereafter forging them into a more structured state of being, external stimuli is forced into recognition. The visual representation uses inner thought and emotion, and the chaotic experience of internal noise is better understood. In result, the external becomes internal and the internal, external.
