muscle cars have tons of room to work on and use 40-50s technology :-) no kidding, few wires, few big bolts and pull :-) This thing on the other hand is a maze has enough wires to wire the twin towers...

some friendly advice... next time just unbolt the engine mounts and unscrew the drive shafts! there are less than 10 hoses to disconnect and a few clips to unplug!
no disrespect but that was painful to watch, a lot of what you did was unnecessary : D

last week me and my bro removed my vr6 in 2,5h. at the first time it took 2 days^^

me to just in 3 hours. problem is if you are doing that with somebody. u gotta now what to do in very short time.
did u put a new motor in? or did u take it out to fix it? it was a jetta, or am i mistaken? german engineers fml lol

@maddogmatt44 No new engine. It blew, I replaced the head gasket which we thought was the problem and then it promptly died again after melting two pistons. :( Now I'm building an Audi with a VR6 in it.

how long was this process?I'm a firstimer about to undertake similar project.

For a first timer it'll probably take you the whole day to get it out. We took our time and took breaks here and there. Slackers. :p Once you get used to it might take about three hours I'd guess.
