  • dont know if this has been said - or if it says this on the label - but you are not suppose to roll or fold these bags into the compression sack. you are suppose to stuff it in randomly and messy so it doesnt develop any pattern wear on the bags or insulation..

  • @kctyphoon I haven't tried that technique but I think it would be incredibly hard to stuff that in there as you describe.

  • HOW DID YOU PACK IT DOWN THAT SMALL!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I've tried rolling it up multiple times super tight and I still can't get my sleeping bag system to get that small.

  • @2022e55 I literally sat on it and rolled every scrap of air out of the bag as I rolled it.

  • @2022e55 bought a used one, it was half that size. the cinch straps on it were like guitar strings, lol.

  • Winter at Ft. Knox, middle of ice storm, sleeping on the ground with only a pt mat for ground insulation and a base layer of light snivel gear. Woke up looking like a glass coated woodland burrito but didn't notice the cold till I was sitting up in the sack trying to get dressed.

  • I too have the MSS. I bought it for a trip I took to Iceland and it worked beautifully.

  • @BeldakSwordhand Because it balances the weight better. If I am hiking for a day or more it'll save on backpain. Also, there isn't really a very efficient way to fasten it to the outside of my backpack.

  • @Soldier957 why would you put your bed roll IN your pack...

  • @Soldier957 Guessing I would say 7 or 8 litre maybe smaller, it would be better on the outside of a smaller pack, and I would use a thermarest or something similiar unless you knew the area you are in had leaves and grass to make a bed.
