Video shows a large red-headed African Elephant. A detailed view of the trunk can be seen. The elephant's trunk is strong and powerful. It can lift heavy logs and Indian elephants are used to clear forests.
The trunk is also quite delicate and can pick up a piece of straw. The elephant can feel its way around with its trunk.
The elephant can also lift its trunk and trumpet. However they seem to have trouble reaching for leaves in high trees.
Some elephants use their trucks to draw on the ground and some consider that this may be art.
Also shown is a hippopotamus swimming.
