The Game Gear was an 8 bit system, hardly 16 bit as stated here in the comments. Sega wouldn't release a 16 bit handheld until the mid 1990s.

Ok how about you do a little research on the system if your gonna review it. It was released to compete with the old school Game Boy. The major diffrence between the two besides the fact that the game gear had color and a backlit screen versus the game boy. The Game Gear was a 16bit portable gaming syster where as the Game Boy was an 8bit. So with the Game Gear you basically had a portable sega genesis.

The Sega Game Gear was made to compete with the Nintendo GameBoy. Not the GAMEBOY COLOR. You need to brush up on your gaming history. @OldSkoolGam3r
