  • Classic. Epic. The best. So fun. For some reason though, I never beat it, even though I had the original back int he day. Main reason I supose was I was obsessed with getting all of the secret items, so I would not proceed through and into next levels until I had found everything. Problem then was, I could not find everything. Then the new PS1 came out and then Final Fantasy 7 came out, the rest is history. Stupid me sold off the SNES. Found a new condition SNES on the webernet recently

  • This game still looks amazing today and that's why the new Donkey Kong Returns is almost a copy. :)

  • Was never a Dkc fan, but I must gave the series another go. Cool video Darran

  • I thought when this was unveiled people thought this was an Ultra 64 game not Playstation as it used the SGI tech which the upcoming Ultra 64 was known to use.

When I first saw it I also thought it was the N64 and not SNES, amazing achievement. Bit of a classic

  • i never had a game blow me away the way this one did.....amazing!

  • This game is amazing. Looks outstanding, sounds even better and has so many levels with a lot of variety.

  • I will never ever forget seeing the underwater & snow levels for the first time.

  • The Donkey Kong Country games are indeed gorgeous; the rendered sprites look brilliant and some of the full-screen effects layered onto the underwater and snow levels were really effective. It's funny to think that a lot of the elements of the series - collectables, fire/ice/water levels, etc - are now seen as generic platform staples today, but even so, it was great fun at the time. (That said, the rendering made collision detection pretty hazy and often cost me a few misjudged jumps... )

  • Love Retrogamer. Keep em coming!
