@Darkflame864 Fuel is not combusted anywhere in space, at least nowadays, it is just that there is nothing in space, and when you let out some kind of gas (probably simple oxigen i don't know...) it pushes you away. Combustion is only needed in the atmosphere where there is already air, and you need an even greater power.

How do you pay it?

Actually I believe rvanner is right... space shuttles ignite fuel in space to move. Newton's third law-- every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction. So, when fuel is combusted in space behind the shuttle, it moves the shuttle forward. If the oxygen is in liquid form or in another compound that releases oxygen when it comes in contact with something else it probably wouldn't spread out too fast because it wouldn't be in gas form for an extensive period of time. That's my understanding...

Cool game! 5 stars

No, because the oxogen would spread out to fast to catch fire, and ships enginges dont burn in space, it uses ith gravitational pulss to stay up, and propetual motions law to go forward, and in deep space, past earths orbit only the perpetual motion applies, things dont slow down in space, there is no air to slow it down, or friction

Ships still have air in them. You get a leak, you've got something to burn. why else would the space shuttles own engines burn in space? It's because the fuel is pumpped out with liquid oxygen. It's the same priciple.

Fire is plasma, and Stars ARE on fire... BUT!!! Ships cant catch on fire because its in the vaccume... stars have an atmosphere...

Awesome game!...Im going to take a Game Programming course at Devry that implements this Game Engine.
Flames in space?
What.
