The San Diego was the only major US warship lost during World War I. She was a US Armored Cruiser, and at 503 ft long and 13,000 tons was enormous. It was sunk by either a mine or torpedo (the cause is still debated), in 1918, so the wreck is 91 years old. She is now in 110 ft of water, and upside down.

All the footage I took was of the forward half of the ship on the Starboard Side. I apologize for the abysmal quality of this video. I took it with my little point and shoot, and I was having some buoyancy issues as my BC inflator hose was non functional. Still it was an excellent dive. As you can see the Visibility was excellent, and despite its age it is still possible to see the ship's Guns. When I was at about 100 ft, that Spiny Dog Fish swam by.
