Zune HD: Hands On

*UPDATE JUNE 20* Sure we all pretty much knew about this already. However, this time, Microsoft themselves have finally confirmed it. Yes, you may now exhale. Matt Akers, co-host of the Zune Insider podcast, made the announcement in this week's episode saying "Yes, Zune HD does have the Tegra chip in it, which is so sick. So much better battery life, graphics acceleration. This thing is like a mini laptop in your hand, right, it's so awesome."

Well guys i found this vid on the net and it is an actual video of the Zune HD. *NOTE* The firmware that you see is not the final firmware. It has been said that the final firmware will be like the NXE.

Specs:
- 3.3-inch screen and vivid 16:9 Capacitive OLED display (480x272 resolution)
- Multi-touch support with gestures
- built-in HD Radio receiver
- HD video output @ 720p
- Wi-fi
- Web Browser, Touch-screen qwetry keyboard
- Accelerometer
- Integeration with Xbox live
- Possibility of playing XBLA games
- Probably 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flash memory models would be available at launch.

The device is tighter and more physically beautiful than the iPod Touch and its got a better UI, the main menus scrolling so natural through the swipe gestures. Theres a little note on the side, under the volume toggleâ€"Hello from Seattle." The power button is up top. The home button is nice and prominent, a bar rather than a round button on the Touch. Its smaller. And the accelerometer is more swift in responding to repositioning; images rotate very fast.-GIZMODO

It supports flash but due to licensing it wont be available till they get it sorted it out :/

@gee1234567890 Well the main thing I hate about the iTouch is having to deal with shitty iTunes. Also just the music quality is garbage compared to the Zune. The fact that it's a scratch and fingerprint magnet. And no I don't just like the Zune better because I don't own it and by human nature for some reason feel like I need it, I'm a little smarter than that give me some credit. And the iTouch is basically a list OS.. just because the layout isn't doesn't mean the rest of the device isn't.

@gee1234567890 The funny thing is that I do have an iTouch and I hate it so much. It was a gift from my uncle, it was his old one. My friend has a Zune HD that's how I know for sure it's better, because I've actually used one. The OS isn't ugly.. It's awesome, but I guess you've convinced yourself that to make you feel better, whatever it doesn't matter. I think that Zune software on both the device and the computer looks amazing. Seriously tell me something I don't know that's actually true.

@joshwhitenack I don't know bout u, but the zune HD os is the ugliest os I've ever seen, it's a list. I'm glad to know you spent ur money on a a list os. And when I've shown my iPod to someone not one person has asked what the processor was or what the sound quality is. According to the market share people care about what a device can do, not would it could do. And then with os 4 we'll multitasking and game center, so have fun with your list
