Some older Mac computers have the ability to run Leopard, but yet can't read the Dual Layer discs that are downloaded. This guide tells you how to install Leopard on such computers.

    SUCESS!!!!!

It was the SL dvd I found on the torrents...I got the real 7.3 or something GB image...put it on a usb boot it from the usb with the commands at hints.macworld.com and PRESTO!!!! Leopard Installation working....AVOID THE SINGLE LAYER DVD Thanks for the inspiration dude

  • @Corganfuzz Yea, i knew you could install from USB, in fact the new MacBook Air uses a USB drive for its recovery files…Apple is considering doing that with all its software so it may not be too long before OS X is distributed via USB thumb drive. It makes more since considering USB is faster than the DVD-ROM. I did not have a USB drive to test the install with or I would have done that too

  • @123456789dulys No... Too bad they left IBM to Intel... To bad…

  • Does the retail apple store have the iMac that he is using

  • Sounds like he's high as fuck

  • Sounds like you got a big ol' dip in.

  • the reason it wont read the dual layer dvd is that the dvd burner in the mac was from the time it would only read dvd-r and not dvd+r i have that issue with my powermac g4 quicksilver so all the copies of tiger i have wont read or install and i cant use my copy of leopard cause its an upgrade copy only and if i install a new hd i have to have tiger installed first or else the leopard upgrade dvd says tiger isnt installed and the installation wont continue

  • The problem is that the DVD drive is faulty for the emac.

  • can i download Snow Leopard by placing the torrent in a USB also?

  • why cant i drag anything on my destination
