A sweet mellow song off Quincy Jones' great album The Dude. A song to lend an ear to while chillin'. Nice harmonica solo.

  • This song was originally recorded by Ivan Lins (a brazilian singer and songwriter) in 1979. The song is called "Velas Içadas". He also made the lyrics. This is a not Quincy Jones song.

    .

    Tks for attention.

  • this song by Q is transforming.. You can hear the brazilian flavor in it all the way.. The harmonica and whisling is wonderful...

  • Don't apologize for being old...and remembering it (I'm on the wrong side of fifty myself).

And don't apologize either for being young and embracing it.

If you reach out and make it your own, it IS your own, regardeless of your age.

    Just embrace it.

  • Harmonica and whistling is by THE best harmonica player ever Toots thielemans !

  • Un tema de oro.

  • Thank You Quincy for this arrangment!

  • More that likely, Q and Brother Ray had known each other since they were teenagers.

  • @TheAdisah Legendary Harmonica man Toots Thieleman made this song what it is he and Q go way back to the 50's I think.

  • Used in Chile for the program "Santiago y su Gente", radio Viva 1993

  • Ivan Lins wrote it, but Quincy Jones give it world wide attention.
