How Poltergeist Influenced Evil Dead II

Poltergeist is a pretty influential film in general. Maybe because it's PG, maybe because Tobe Hooper's reputation has suffered, or maybe because no-one can be sure whether it's more a Hooper or a Spielberg picture, Poltergeist doesn't seem to get the respect it used to. Here's just a small sample of Poltergeist's influence on one of the most influential horror films of all time, Evil Dead II. Several of Raimi's stylish effects are amped up versions of what Hooper and Spielberg did with Poltergeist. Both films are great. Go watch 'em again!
