New Chart, for Descartes (Philosophy in Ecolang.)

Philosophy of information and organization -- Part 1 of a series about how we see things in nature and society (i.e., "epistemology.") -- Comments are invited to make it better and to clarify the issues.

Essentially it is a metaphysics of "information" and "organization" in the biological and social sciences. It developed as part of the standard grammar for an animated flow-chart energy language.

The last 1/3 will show some examples, touch upon how institutions in economics correspond to the pattern, compare the very different type of system in climate and ecology (i.e. flow-through webs,) and end with a very simple summary. It will be posted shortly.

After this one is finished, it's back to the more mundane stuff.

I've been talking about how we need a 'new language' to express the physical reality, not the abstract concepts we get caught up discussing; this seems to fit the bill. We wouldn't have the words for a pointless 2000 year long free will or ethics debate if we spoke eco language. Sadly this is unspeakable but it sure communicates reality better =(

With a symbolism for "intentionality", Ecolang can LIST the ideas about free will and ethics, show in whom they reside, and show the results upon transactions and organizations. But it will never be an explanation of emotions. It cannot model the higher emotions such as mercy, hope, faith, that intertwine with higher intellectual functions to create the combined forms such as justice, wellness, enlightenment.

I like your ecolanguage very much just as a way to describe difficult things in an understandable way. However, I think, that the language won't work effective enough just on paper; without animation and spoken comments. I think, the world need some software for recording explanations in ecolanguage, where they can easily add and connect elements, create animations and record some voice.

I use Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. I love them, but they are a lot to learn. I am told I could use Flash, but I don't know that program.

If enough people like it and want it, it will be possible to write software to make rudimentary ecolang, because many of the motions repeat, as regular parts of the grammar. The question is, how to let people add different motions and other things, to make it their own.

As it stands now, you have to learn a general animation program. Sorry!

Thank you for the work you have done. it realy helps to reflect the matter of cybernetics system theory and related subjects. I think the main value lies in the methode of explaining and understanding things in ther linear charakter and there inherent circulating character, you can exemplify the dual property of things. i would like to see the second part of this video.

lee, ive watched all ur videos.... i just naturally assumed that ud developed software to accomplish all this.... that uve actually done it all "by hand" in adobe cs makes it all the more impressive.... kudos to u, sir! this is what its all about.... the development and evolution (& eventual transcendence?) of communication....
