napo2004 I agree with everything you said. I just think with players at this level there would be a huge advantage for players to stay close and take the ball on the rise. Spin becomes less of a factor this way and you throw your opponent's timing off with quick returns. I admit you will not be able to put your body into your shots but I believe you would still be able to hit the same angles and your returns will be flatter giving your opponent less options. You would be always dictating points

@wolverine19842002 Staying close to the table gives you very little time to adapt to the direction of the ball. It can be on 1, 2 attack shots. However if the opponent puts a nice top-spin and ball is long, you need to move back.

Another important idea is that you need to use your whole body for attack shots. The movement cannot be wide enough on top of the table ...
