Hello Youtubers, this is tutorial on how I made my homemade deep conditioner. If interested, you can modify this to how you want it. Emulsifying wax is not needed, but I do recommend using at least the Xantham Gum. I used the following ingredients:

1) Boil 10 oz of water and infuse with Burdock Root, Horsetail, Slippery Elm, Nettle and Marshmallow Root followed by 2 tbsp of Emulsifying Wax
2) Add the following oils:
3 oz Vatical Oil
1 oz Castor Oil
2oz EVOO
3) 3 oz Honey
4) Mix with a hand mixer and add Xantham Gum as needed

  • Hi, I just had a few questions, when you added the xanthan gum to your deep conditioner mixture and you let it set for a couple of hours or even a day, did you find that your oils separated fro your mixture? or did the xanthan gum help keep the water and oil mixtures together for long periods of time while also thickening it?

  • @materialgirl6892: no it did not separate, it created a cream but it all depends on the amount of xantham gum you add. It's main purpose is to bind the oils and water together. You can do the same thing with emulsifying wax.

  • @SparkMyWorld: I had to stop making products for a while so I really haven't used or perfected the Marshmallow Root due to my upcoming move. Plus, I had other products that I needed to use up first. I will start experimenting with the ingredients again in a few months once I get settled.

  • woah thats a lot of stuff to do

  • @ATLalana87: you don't have to make it like I made mine, you can add or take away whatever you want. If you don't want to use herbs you can use water only. If you look at it, there's only oil, water, herbs and honey. This was a really good conditioner for me.

  • Did you crush those supplements or squeeze them out of their gel caps?

  • Did you notice a difference between t he slip ingredients like Marshamllow, Burdock or Slippery Elm? Which one gives more slip?
