One of the tunes sounds like a version of Miss MacLeod's reel which gives a clue to the origin of the tune and dance.

This Virginia reel is from Scotland - brought by Scottish settlers; glad to see its acknowledged by kilted dancers; usually the reel played is also Scots, not Virginian!
