This video shows the early pioneering work of 3D reconstruction from CT and MRI performed in the years 1986-1991 by the VOXEL-MAN Group of the former Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science in Medicine, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. Highlights are the first realistic reconstructions of the brain (1987) and the beating heart (1988) from MRI data. Although originally recorded in digital format, this video is a copy from a betacam tape recording. VOXEL-MAN today: www.voxel-man.de
