I haven't made one of these vids in a while... just pure Japan.
My entire monster clan is in town to visit so we took them to Kiyomizudera in Kyoto. Took the Shinkansen (bullet train) there from Nagoya. It took 36 minutes and cost about $120 roundtrip.
("dera" means temple, "kiyomizu"=literally pure/clear water)
This is, IMHO, the best place to visit in Kyoto. More info on it here.

What you are seeing in this video is the video as I walk down the hill away from Kiyomizudera. It is untouched. Unedited. Uncut. Enjoy!

BTW, I shot this using a Kodak Zi8 with a wide angel lens mounted on a 1.6 meter monopod.
This is the lens I used.

  • I feel like a walking giant.

  • Takoyaki!! Did I just see takoyaki? Ohh man, how I would love to have some takoyaki... Are they really that great as I think they are?

  • Hahaha, I went crazy when I went to Kiyomizudera more than a year ago. I loved everything there. People always talk about Tokyo, but really Kyoto is where it's at. 8)

  • Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the WORLDS TALLEST GAIJIN! ;D

    But anyway, awesome video:p

  • Welcome to Diagon Alley.

  • I like it.

  • thanks for this nice video, it shows a more wholesome view of things than just viewed from normal height.

  • Awesome! I actually tried doing this in The Netherlands as well last Summer but it's just no good: instead of just going about their business people will all stare up and make remarks. *sigh* ;)

  • This is how Japan looks from a gaijin's eyes.

  • this is as if you where a gaint walking up the street. LOL i really believed you were a gaint in my mind LOL
