http://www.papatedsplace.com/ More vintage Christmas crap. I wish I could keep collecting forever, but I'm out of room and money!

  • the holes in the back were for a light? that last one you are holding up, is that a red cross on the door? during the war that people who had someone in the war had a red cross on white attached to a door or window...that could date that piece and yeah , that would make in american made...interesting

  • @StevenChandlerArtist Wow, you have a sharp eye! I looked at the house in question, and I believe the red cross you say is actually supposed to be a lamp. Still, this particular house is strange, and may be an American made house, I honestly don't know. It's different from the typical Japanese houses. Perhaps I should write the PapaTed website and see if he knows anything about where/when it was made. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  • @SlackJones1 well it could have been a lamp they hung in the window...I'l ask my wife, she knows, her grandmother hung one on her door or window...lamp,cross, it was something red on a white background I think...

  • NEATO!

  • i watched this before going to bed last night and was too lazy to type how much i enjoyed seeing all those and hearing about them - that is some vintage crap of which i had never heard. verrry cool!

  • What a great vid! I love these little houses. I remember seeing these when I was a kid. They are so charming. Full of character like you said. Lots of interesting info. I am amazed that cardboard could look so good and hold up so well. I think they are very pretty too. But anything is pretty if you put some glitter on it and I really like that old mica glitter. I guess there's something wrong with it and that's why they don't use it any more. Merry Christmas

  • Those are wonderful!! I love them!!

  • We shopped often at woolworth's and Kress's, I lived on 10th ave and California street 50's and 60's then later 25th ave and clement street till 66 then off to college. I sure you don't give a shit and I don't blame you but it made me feel good telling you, San Francisco the good old days.
