Both bands are great, and I'd happily buy versions of this by both of them! Eldritch and co were brilliant, Wayne and co were brilliant. It's a genre of music we may never see again, due to the atrocities of todays music scene, so let's just enjoy it!

the mission licked balls, and this version of serpents kiss shows you why, see also marian/wasteland. i still wish theyd stayed together for another album though.

1:50 sounds like the temple of love intro.

i love both bands :)

hussey was penning his own material wile still with the sisters there is also a version of "garden of delight" sung by eldridge

@Criddington agree

Shame the 'classic' sisters never did album number 2! Gary Marx and Wayne Hussey were great tunesmiths!

Often times an artists first version is the best!

This song is so good.I can listen to this til i die!!!
I enjoy the flow of this instrumental much more than the Mission's edit, it has more feel to it even tho I enjoy Wayne's voice. I guess it has to do with more emphasis on melody on this one, and a slower tempo

I completely agree. I have nothing against Wayne, and I love The Mission, but this version outdoes The Missions in every way =/

The actual song is by The Mission, yes, but this instrumental version [as far as I know, anyways] is by The Sisters of Mercy. It was taken off of their TRUE final album together, entitled "Victims of Circumstance", which is the same album featuring both versions of Garden of Delight, as well as Dance on Glass and Red Skies Disappear.
