  • I've seen his show and it is BORING. No showmanship at all. Yes the puppets move, but there is no reason for what they do. It is great to be a great technician, but a puppeteer has to be a SHOWMAN.

  • I'm sure it's in the eye of the beholder. Others have told me seeing him perform was awe-inspiring. I have never seen him perform, but this video showing just the craftsmanship of his puppet-making skills is awe-inspiring enough...

  • @goatmom1 All I have to say, is thank you goatmom! I agree, kids and teens these days are so caught up with technology it is sad and too fast. I am sure very little of this generation is familiar with puppetry.

  • WOW i am floored and astonished by the controls for his marionettes. The one for the horse looks so complex. I would love to learn how to make these!!

  • It was very awe-inspiring for me and I was very lucky to have him autograph my ticket when I went and saw him for the first and only time. He was here in Henderson, Nevada. Back in April 6, 2002 at the Silver Springs Recreation Center. He is the best by far!

  • jim99jr, I would bet you are very young and are hopped up on video games and action movies. His shows are amazing and with amazingly deep motivations for his characters. My son was 7 when we first saw him and even he "got" what the reasons where for what the characters did. The old woman watering the grave flowers and them coming to life especially touched him - me too. Eye popping stunts? No. The essence of humanity? Yes.

  • Great

  • For my next marionette, I will make the control so complicated only I can work the puppet :-P.

No I'm not poking fun. I just made a marionette dragon but I didn't know you could make the control out of steel or make it that complicated. I'd love to do that!

  • I saw him perform in Omaha -- it was completely awe-inspiring. I wish this video featured more of his characters, like the violin player (one of my favorites).

  • SImply incredible, THAT is genius.
