Part 4 of 9 of my trip to Costa Rica in 2007.
We spent a few hours at Matapalo, which is the surf spot directly across from Pavones (so it's a right break). After some time in the water we felt the need to mess around for a bit, before heading back on the road to the rainforest.
Along the way to Corcovado National Park we had to pass through a lot of rivers in our suv. This was during the rain season of Costa Rica, so we had to be sure to get an early start when driving (it rains in the afternoon, so the depth of the rivers increases substantially).
Thankfully our guide Regin was very familiar with the area, and was able to help us navigate to our destination. After parting ways with him, we camped at the La Leona ranger station.
