Music from Live A Live, a very charming and brilliant RPG. It is composed of seven unique scenarios, each with its own character and setting, and one final setting draws the game to a close. The game was not released on the North American SNES, but is available in English via an excellent fan translation by Aeon Genesis (most of the screenshots come from that version). Sound is done by Yoko Shimomura. If you listen closely to some of the music, you can hear a faint resemblance to Front Mission and to Super Mario RPG, both of which she later composed the music for. Go give this game a try, it's full of personality.

Tracks:
[0:01] Live-A-Live
[1:14] Select-A-Live
[2:16] Native Live
[3:31] The Birds Fly in the Sky, The Fish Swim in the Sea
[4:27] Wait for Truth
[5:27] Megalomania
[6:44] Prelude to the Demon King
[8:35] The Demon King Odio

Game: Live A Live (Super Famicom - 1994)
Composer: Yoko Shimomura

  • Shame this game was never brought to the US. I mean, there's a good online tranlation, but still... a majority of people won't play it.

  • Yeah, it's too bad...even many RPG fans of today don't know about Square's old Japanese-only games. Part of me wishes that Square Enix would rerelease or remake some of their old gems like this, since that seems to be their thing lately. But yeah, at least we have the fan translation.
