http://vitrue.com - Reggie Bradford, Vitrues CEO, cites recent stats that cement the fact that social media has become ubiquitous for consumers and marketers are taking notice from Dominos to Skittles to even pop culture celebs like Oprah. Reggie shares his thoughts on how marketers need to root their efforts in strategy and why their social media presence will become the fulcrum of marketing communication strategies.
Reggie is correct that Facebook reached its first inflection point in 2009, or point in time when users and revenue growth accelerate exponentially. This correlates with my Facebook Inflection Point Theory. However, by mid-to-late 2010 Facebook growth in users begins to slow down and Facebook enters a critical inflection point. At this point in time, user growth is no longer exponential, as Facebook begins to reach saturation in several markets.
