Hello there folks!

I desperately needed to change the strings on my Takamine EG540SSC because those strings had died a long time ago. I recently received my order from StringsToGo.com too, so I thought, why not replace them right now? And then I thought, why not record it and put it on YouTube?

Mind you, this is not a very instructional video. The process is speeded up with the help of some video magic to save time.

The strings I'm putting on my guitar are DR Sunbeams, the most awesome set of strings I have ever used. They sound awesome, even when they're old. I recommend you try them!

  • lol, you suck at changing strings:) I have a Takamine myself. Think I will give DR Sunbeam a try, because the Elixir 011 set I use now sounds like an ass

  • @TrappedInABikini I filmed this a pretty long time ago, and I was quite nervous :P What Takamine model do you have? :)

  • @Demoras haha, I remember the first times trying to change strings:) Somehow, they always ended up buzzing or broken lol. I think it's a Takamine SCL-401

  • @TrappedInABikini Lol! It's not like this was my first time replacing strings 8) I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now after all (together with a variety of other instruments)! It's just the camera that's making me nervous, and the rather strange way of replacing strings :) I normally do it in playing position.

Ahh okay! I can't find much info about the model, but Takamine is usually good :) I have two Takamines ^^ I gotta replace the saddles with bone some day though.

  • how epensive are DRs? my mom wants to get new strings for her acoustic(hasn't been restrung in over 50 years) and maybe I could suggest these.

  • @BlanFan2O Hmm, I can't really remember. I don't think they're that expensive, according to StringsAndBeyond . com the list price is 9.99.

These are pretty nice strings. I don't use them anymore though, but that's because I found it a little bit of a hassle to order strings from the USA all the time =D

  • DR Sunbeams and DR Zebras are my two favorite strings. Sunbeams are brighter and Zebras are warmer.

  • @Demoras Can't find much either lol:( It's still the best acoustic guitar I've tried and will probably be until I found a new Takamine:)

  • That was actually freakishly entertaining.

  • That's a Takamine EG540SSC :)
