0955 Materialisation (Section 6.2, Chapter 162 Yoga Vasistha)

The yogic power of materialising out of the air is a naive misunderstanding. Consciousness is materialising all the time, from moment to moment, just as a dream 'materialises'. The dream is very concrete at the time of the dream. We divest it of its concreteness once we regard ourselves as awake. Consciousness imbues everything with a sense of matter.

We construct the idea that there is something to be seen, that there is an object to consider. This is the story of cognition. Indivisible consciousness gives the appearance of diversity.

Creation is an 'inner' experience. The body is a bundle of notions.

The sound of thunder does not arise from things hitting together.

Because there is no creation, rest in supreme peace. Give up notions of limited individuality.

Do it now. Use the teachings of the wise to aright yourself. No excuses! This can be done no matter what the circumstances, no matter what your mood!
